- Feb 25, 2022 -

1. Plant-derived cosmetics become a trend

With the continuous improvement of living standards, people pay more and more attention to the environmental protection, safety, and naturalness of cosmetics. Traditional Chinese medicine cosmetics are made by extracting useful ingredients from Chinese herbal medicines and natural plants. They follow the requirements of the natural environment and the sustainable development of human beings and meet people's pursuit of high-quality living methods.

2. The relationship between ginseng extract and cosmetics

Ginseng is a well-known and precious medicinal material at home and abroad. It has been used for more than 4,000 years to treat diseases. At the same time, ginseng is also a rare beauty product. Ginsenosides, the active ingredients in ginseng extract, are not only found in the roots, but also in the stems and leaves of ginseng. Therefore, ginseng extracts extracted from ginseng stems, leaves, or roots have skincare effects, and they have a wide range of applications in the cosmetic industry. They have long been added to cosmetics as antioxidants, skin conditioning agents, and scalp conditioning agents.

3. Why ginseng extract needs alcohol soluble

(1) Recently, we have received feedback from some cosmetic customers that they need to use ginseng extract to make a skincare product in the form of a cream. It needs to be able to dissolve into 95-degree ethanol to play the role of bactericidal and solubilizing. However, when the conventional total ginsenosides extracted from stems and leaves are dissolved, there will always be precipitation. You can see the following pictures for reference.

(2) We fed back the question to the technical department and their reply was that there are two solutions. The first is to achieve the effect of complete dissolution by improving the purity of ginsenosides, but this will increase the cost of the product a lot, which is not in line with the actual situation; The second can be achieved by reducing the concentration of ethanol. At present, the concentration of ethanol can reach 60%, which can meet the requirements of customers. If you are interested welcome to find us at sales@botanicalcube.com
